About

Hello there.  I'm Emily Watkins and I'm very glad you are here.  My husband Jim and I are constantly trying to imagine and live out a liturgy in our home that helps our family desire and live out God's kingdom.  We hope to share some of that journey here with you.  We love thinking about Christian education, journeying the church year, Godly Play, creativity, and the arts.  I'm grateful you are here and hope you will stay and share your own ideas for creating a meaningful liturgy.

Jim and I hold B.A.s from Wheaton College, IL.  My M.A. is in applied theology and his in Theology, Imagination and the Arts from Regent College, Vancouver, Canada.  Jim has a PhD in Theology from St. Andrews University, Scotland where he wrote on the relationship between divine and human creativity.  His book, Creativity As Sacrifice: Toward a Theological Model for Creativity in the Arts is now available through Fortress Press.

So, I probably don't need to point out that we've moved a lot and love studying theology.

We now live in Richmond, VA with our four little men.  Jim is teaching Bible and Humanities at Veritas School.  Please feel free to contact me with questions and I'll do the best I can to reply in a timely manner.
